…off your line…

It’s perhaps obvious to the experienced keeper: when the ball is in the middle third or in your team’s attacking third, you need to move to support them. Here is a good (but way too long) video of an indoor game in which the movement, communication, and support of the goalkeeper is highlighted.  Worth a watch:

Thanks to the folks from Serious Goalkeeping  for the clip. Note that the keeper moves off his line when appropriate, and helps support his team while remaining integrated into the game.  This is in contrast to what happens below, where the keeper is off his line with the ball in the middle third (good), but doesn’t really remain focused (very bad):
