There was a soccer match in Panama last night. A decidedly ‘B/C’ USA team took on Panama in a friendly, with Jurgen Klinsmann‘s stated goal being to let his young players experience the tension of a CONCACAF away match. Indeed, this will come in handy once WC qualifying gets geared up – you don’t need some kid getting his first cap in an important match in front of a hostile Central American crowd. What we were treated to was not a whole lot of great soccer, but there was some OUTSTANDING goalkeeping. In the video below, the keeper fireworks start at about the 1:55 mark. As you might expect, much of the excellent keeper work by Nick Rimando, Sean Johnson, and Luis Mejía is largely the result of crappy defending. Don’t let that destroy your enjoyment of the fantastic saves after the jump.
